Week 21 - Laughing

I was pretty excited when I saw the theme for this week. Mostly because after last weeks Mystery debacle, I knew I would be able to get a great image this week (or at least an adorable one!!!) and... I DID!!! I actually got TWO that I wanted to post this week.
As you can probably tell by the images, I didn't do any setup or staging this week. Really, all I did, was tell Buddy that I was going to take a picture and to make AJ laugh.. BAM!!!! I'm done!! That little girl loves her Daddy and loves to laugh. Buddy can pretty much make her laugh on queue, whether it be him kissing her on the cheek making noises or dancing behind me and my camera haha! The hardest part of these images was when I zoomed in, finding all of the little specks of spinach all over her tiny person face. Guess Buddy and I need to do a better job of wiping that off?? Oh well, she's saving it for later, right? I sure love this little stinkers smile <3!!!!!!!

Week 20 -Mystery

BLAHHHH!!!!! Not only am I.. um... FOUR days late on this one, but I'm not quite sold on it either. This past week was SUPER busy and I had all intentions of taking a shot of my mom holding Avery when she was at my house this past weekend (the other theme I could choose from was Mother.) However, I wanted to make sure I wasn't duplicating something I had already shot and... well... it just didn't happen. For multiple reasons: 1. I forgot 2. My husband drove off with my camera and 3. I forgot. SO, I decided to take a stab at mystery.
I knew getting my child to look mysterious was going to be impossible, mostly because she has never done it before and also because she isn't great at doing anything on queue (Dang 9 monthers haha) I then decided I would play with some light by shooting into her nursery while she was sleeping and really try to bring in the light from the lamp post outside of her room. Well, that didn't work. My poor camera couldn't find anything to focus on and let's just say... Auto-focusing into a room of darkness is REALLY tricky haha. I then decided I would take it downstairs and take some shots in her playroom with the same light idea in mind. I was kind of pissed at myself for not thinking of this room first because the lighting in there can actually be somewhat creepy..or..mysterious sometimes when the shades are just right and because there's a lamp right outside and a big bushy tree! I was able to capture the tree through the shades (which was kind of my goal) so I will just call this one a win!!! While I had last week's happy playroom with AJ in it.. here is AJ's mysterious playroom :)

Week 19 - Tell a Story with a Picture

I have been working on Avery's new playroom a little this past week so I decided that I would utilize Avery's (mostly mine for now) new MAGNETIC chalkboard wall for this week's image. It worked out great that it was 'Tell a Story with a Picture' because that meant I got to draw something fun on the wall. The only problem I was facing... what damn story am I going to tell? I put it off until.. well.. today, so I ended up using the snow as a bit of inspiration. I also tried to dress Avery in conflicting clothes, but really, I just wanted her to wear that adorable hat again haha. I was also pretty thrilled that she started doing her little wave as I was snapping shots of her. Obviously I can't capture it in motion, but it at least gives an idea of how damn cute it is.

I had to throw this image on here too because I just think it's so cute. This is her little "I'm trying to crawl but I don't know what to do with my hands" pose haha! Plus, I love those little baby lips!

Week 18 - Love

Love. All you need is love. Love is a many splendid thing. HA ok, I'm done. I was pumped when I saw my theme this week was Love. Such an easy theme when I am constantly surrounded by so many things and people that I love! I started the week out thinking that I wanted to shoot Avery (duh!) with Buddy!! Two of the people I love the most in the world. Not to mention the fact that they love each other SO much as well. I also love seeing them together. It warms my heart seeing how much she loves her Daddy! (I feel like we should make a drinking game out of how many times I am saying 'Love' in this post) So....... back on track.... I figured I would just pull Buddy aside at some point when he is chillin' with our villain and snap a couple of shots. And What.Do.You.KNOW!!!! Something actually worked out how I planned it this week. We were at Buddy's mom's house, watching Beth head off to Prom and taking a few pictures, when I looked over and saw my wonderful husband holding my adorable daughter. Well hot damn! I was able to just turn like 10 degrees and start taking pictures of them! Perfect!!!!! It was almost too easy.... and then it wasn't... trying to get them to both have a good face at the same time. Impossible! So, I picked this particular image because you can just feel how much Buddy loves his little girl just by looking at it. And ... I love Avery's little goofy smile and her hair sticking up in the back! It's literally making me want to go wake her up right now and squeeze the crap out of her!!!!!! But I won't! I just LOVE these two!!!
