Week 13 - My Assistants

One of the things I really strive to do with the photography part of my life is not let it interfere too much with my family life (unless I am actually taking pictures of my family.) I try to schedule shoots around time with my daughter and I try to never work on editing or emailing or anything if Avery is awake. This past weekend, my FAVORITE scenario happened. Avery and Buddy came along on a shoot with me. We were going to an area that I knew would be fun for the two of them to explore while I did my shoot and I knew my awesome client wouldn't mind if one other tiny person was around during the shoot. It was so much fun.. as I would focus on taking pictures and then all of a sudden, would see Buddy and Avery in the distance playing around ... CLICK CLICK!!! I assured my client that I wouldn't be sending those images to her in her gallery :) Too bad we can't do this at every shoot... I'm sure in-home newborn shoots would be a disaster with my little tornado in tow!!!

I was working on getting my settings right.. so, naturally, I snapped a picture of my little. She stole that little toy there... it was meant to be a prop.

Ahh the perks of being a toddler... face boo-boos!! Sometimes, walking is a challenge.

I looked off as I was taking pictures and saw these two playing around. Makes my heart happy.

Daddy and his little girl!

Week 12 - Cool Uncle Willy

We went up to watch some March Madness basketball this past weekend with my family and I was expecting to get some shots of AJ watching some basketball. Instead, she had the best day with her Uncle Willy. She's so funny because she knows she knows him, but she always takes just a little time warming up to him when she sees him again. This time, she warmed up to him and would not stop smiling every time he got close. I gotta say... I love my brother a WHOLE lot... but I love him so much more as Avery's awesome Uncle!!!

This face makes me laugh EVERY....SINGLE....TIME!!!!!!!!

Genuine, full toothed smile.. from all in the picture, haha!

Not quite sure what was going on here... but it makes me want to sing the song from the Lion King.

They were doing this forever! Clearly it's a fun time.

See... forever!!!

I love this picture so much!! Pure tiny person happiness.

Upside down and right side up giggles!

Week 11 - Honeydew

What a difference a few days makes!! I felt like I was on my death bed and then BAM, I was feeling like my normal, happy self again! Coincidentally (or maybe not that much), along with my feeling better came marvelous weather over the weekend. I was feeling so guilty that Avery and I had been stuck inside for so long with her being sick then with me being sick, that I promised her (and myself) that we would be rocking tons of outside time this weekend. I followed through on my promise. We had the most productive weekend, cleaning, organizing, playing, napping... and it felt so dang good. I had my camera downstairs at all times so I was ready to snap away, even though Avery pretty much stops what she's doing the second I bring my camera out. At least I was able to capture a little glimpse of how much she loves her Honeydew right now. I'm pretty sure the kid learned to say "please" because she wanted it so bad.. and that "please" really sounds like "sssssss".. but that counts :) Such a fun time with my tiny person, who always stands at the door, points outside and sweetly says "SSSSSSSSSSSSSS"!!!!

"Honeydew for me??? Yes, SSSSSSS, Mama" ... She can't even handle how much she loves this stuff.
My heart bursts when I see how much joy she gets out of playing with these damn blocks. She focuses so much every single time... clearly making sure her towers are up to code.

Playing blocks WHILE squatting.... just kill me know.. the cuteness is too much.

Getting ready to embark upon the wild land that is her backyard.

Clearly wasn't ready for the wild land when walking through the arch. Haha, I love her face!!!
Playing with rocks on the fence. She did this forever.. apparently the sound was awesome.
I love how much she thinks about things. Go up, grab a rock, sit down and think about said rock.

She's a classy lady. You're Welcome!

Week 10 - Sad Eyes

Well, we have had yet another rough week. Last week started out fine but then our little nugget ended up getting sick :( She went to stay with her Gramma and Grampa on Friday night and we joined them all on Saturday. By the time we got there Saturday, the little bug had already had a rough day... throwing up included. She is very much like her mom and doesn't do a great job of hiding when she is feeling icky, hence the Sad Eyes title. Her little eyes look so sad when she doesn't feel well. What's funny is, she loves being outside and playing at the ranch so much that, even though she was feeling so icky, she just had to go outside with us to check some things out. Now, because of her wonderful willingness to share, I got the same little stomach bug that she had, knocking me out this week. So, you can blame her for the late post here. This past week and this current week has been full of cuddles and movies and a few pictures here and there :)

When I see these pictures, I immediately start thinking "People let me tell you 'bout my beeest friend!" I love how Avery's little swagger is quite apparent in the picture on the right :)

Can't spend the weekend at the Ranch without a 4-Wheeler picture. This little trooper would still go on these rides even if she was throwing up at that very moment.

Her second favorite thing to do is to go on little adventures by herself. My Dad and I would just jump from window to window inside watching her travel around the house during her adventures. I decided to jump outside and snap a picture while she was still oblivious to me.

Look at those sad little eyes. You can tell she is sick in this picture.. luckily, she has her beads to play with.

Just watchin' Gramma in the kitchen

I love this picture!! I love how it shows her silly little way of drinking her milk one handed and the little pose she was in while she was doing it. Nothing better than a big chair at Gramma and Grampa's house!

Week 9 - Cornbread Muffins

Well, I sit here ashamed... I officially missed my first week! Last week was just too tough to get something up here, but I figured, I had two posts one week, so I am square :)

This past weekend we went to G-pa Mike's 55th birthday party. I was in charge of snapping a few pictures of the party and interactions and, naturally, accidentally focused mainly on my tiny tot. She is just so entertaining and fun to take pictures of! She was walking around, stealing food from our plates, petting kitties, playing with doll houses and making friends with everyone. She even looked at me and semi smiled, which is like trying to get a puppy to look at me and smile. I will count it as a win, even though her little smile is the goofiest one of them all. I always count any time I get a picture of her with her Uncle Willy as a win. It just makes my heart so happy seeing her with him... he's the best Uncle around :)

See!!!! Warms your heart just a little doesn't it??? Both of them so genuinely smiling.. goooodness :)

The product of her thievery: Momma's Cornbread Muffin

Evidence of the stolen muffin. Tiny crumb face!

And here's that goofy crumb-faced smile. Haha, she's such a goober. Makes me want to squeeze the dickens out of her.

Here she was watching her kitty friend play on the bed. This little girl LOVES cats and is attracted to them immediately whenever she enters a room. Hey.. if they make her smile like this, she can have 1 million of them...(just kidding Buddy)
