Week 3 - Aint No Thang Like a Ranch Thang

Not sure where that title came from... but it felt like the right thing to do! If you have followed my blog AT ALL, you have probably noticed just how much I love going out to my parents' place! It's like you are disconnected from the world, which, sometimes needs to happen!! I also think it's one of the prettiest places.. even if everything is brown and dead right now :) I also love that Avery can NOT get enough of the place. My mom will take her out to do chores with her in the morning and Avery will throw a fit when it's time to come in. I feel like that is one temper tantrum I'm fine with her having.

So, as you can probably tell, we went up to the Ranch this past weekend to celebrate my big ol' birthday. It was kind of a crazy weekend, driving to the Ranch, driving to Denver and then back out to the Ranch. Avery stayed with my parents on Saturday so Buddy and I could go out for a little Bday celebration. We then spent the whole day with everyone on Sunday.. watching the Packers throw the game away... and eating Chicken n' Noodles and Peach Cobbler! Avery absolutely HATED the Peach Cobbler... ya right. Anyway... I decided to go out with my mom and AJ to do the chores on Sunday and it became a family affair...  dogs, Bah Pahs (Grampa), Grammas and Dads!! So, naturally, I took my camera along!!

If this big toothy smile doesn't make you smile... may want to check to make sure you have a pulse. And yes, we went playing outside in our PJs.
Clearly, Titan is SUPER interested in what she is doing.
In true Avery fashion, she decided she wanted to play with the snow... and it immediately went into her mouth.
Just a toddler, playing with corn in front of some corn stalks. And yes, this ALSO went into her mouth.
Still playing with her cornstalks... the picture on the right makes me want to reach through the screen and kiss her
Contrary to what may show on her face in this picture, Avery LOVES riding the four wheeler with her Grampa. Apparently, now it's not enough to just sit on my Dad's lap, she needs to straddle the seat too. This kid is going to be driving the four wheeler in no time.
Here (above and below), I was just walking along with my tiny person and Buddy yelled up to me "Stevie, give me your camera"... obviously I gave it to him. He started following us and snapping some pictures :) I have to say, it's kind of fun being in the frame with Avery.. even if I look like a big slob in my sweats and pony tail

  1. What a good husband - I love those ones of you actually in the frame. :)

And I can't entirely blame Avery for loving the four wheeler...I can distinctly remember over your wedding weekend wanting every possibly excuse to go down to the tent - just to ride the four wheeler! :)
